I have other drawings which can help to better understand the pedestal concept. The LEM legs will not support a complete drum kit on their own. An irregular convex octagon trussing could be designed for the Descent Stage frame. The pedestal will come through the bottom of the engine skirt all the way to the floor. The legs of the LEM will provide mostly stability rather than bulk support.
