The problem
A multi-unit commercial site (salon suites) runs Samsung WindFree 4-way ceiling cassettes: indoor AM007AN1PCH/AA, outdoor AM060MXMDCH/AA. For five years the units have had recurring condensate leaks: two drip a few drops daily, others have dumped water and needed parts replaced. Three HVAC contractors and Samsung have not found a lasting fix.
What we want
A durable, retrofit drainage solution that installs without replacing the cassettes. Possible directions:
- Re-sloped or shimmed drain pan, or a leveling kit for the cassette mount
- Secondary catch-pan adapter sized to the cassette body, with overflow switch provision
- Drain outlet / pump-line retrofit that prevents backflow and sagging
Deliverables
1. Diagnostic checklist (pan level with fan running, pump line routing, trap/vent, filter and coil condition)
2. CAD for the chosen fix, designed from measured parts
3. Prototype set for one unit, with install notes
Requirements
- "Compatible with" Samsung WindFree cassettes; no OEM branding
- Corrosion-resistant, condensate-safe materials
- Installable by a standard HVAC tech in under an hour per unit
Quantity: 1 prototype set, then up to the full fleet if it works.
