241102-CDM: does anyone really know how often a refrigerator filter really needs to be changed?  What is it actually "collecting" or filtering and is this not just a predatory business model that puts fear into the user in that the water is somehow contaminated and shouldn't be consumed without a new filter every 6 months (at $50/ea)?
